Five Animals Kung Fu proudly has two training locations in Central Illinois; one in Champaign and one in Springfield.
The Champaign branch of Choy Lay Fut was originally founded by Santanu Rahman, and passed to Rob "Putty" Putman when Santanu moved to Austin to start Austin Kung Fu Academy in 2006. The Champaign branch regularly has many students ranging from university students to retirees.
The Champaign school is located at 219 South Locust Street in downtown Champaign. It is between Springfield and University and just east of Neil street. There is ample parking available at no cost.
Starting in 2011, Josiah took up the task of expanding Five Animals Kung fu by training students in the Springfield Illinois area as an affiliated extension to Five Animals Kung Fu, with the help of both Sifu Putty and Sifu Santanu Rahman. The goal of Five Animals Kung Fu - Springfield is to bring traditional Chinese martial arts to the Springfield area through Choy Lay Fut and San Shou competition fighting.
The Springfield School meets at Anthony's One on One Fitness at 1650 Wabash Avenue, Sweet F in Springfield. There is plenty of parking available.
